Major Changes
A brand-new way to create reports
We’ve completely redesigned the “New Report” flow:
The command menu now opens with a curated gallery of ready-made templates alongside “Start from scratch”.
Each template shows a live preview so you know exactly what you’ll get before you click.
Picking a template instantly creates the report and takes you straight to it.
The result is a faster, clearer path from idea to finished report—no more blank-page anxiety.
Email alerts for report runs
Never miss an update again. Scheduled and manual report runs can now send an email summary to your inbox (or your team’s). Turn alerts on or off per report and keep stakeholders in the loop without leaving Basedash.
“Chat about this report” is back
We’ve restored the one-click “Chat with report” button. Open any report, hit the button, and start a conversation with the AI about the numbers you’re looking at—perfect for quick follow-ups and what-if questions.
Tighter permission enforcement
We made a series of changes to ensure the right people have the right access:
Users without full access can no longer change workspace-level permissions.
Fixes and improvements
Moved report run navigation into the header for quicker switching between historical runs.
Improved empty-state, header, and instruction text styling on reports.
Updated Slack markdown rendering for more accurate formatting.
UI polish: metric titles now appear beneath the number, and the “New chart” button is no longer blocked by invisible elements.
Fixed a jank moment when navigating to a freshly created report run.
Resolved incorrect positioning of the “scroll to bottom” button in chat.
Improved “Unset Slack channel” flow and removed outdated Slack help text.
Dashboards context is now enabled for all users by default.
Prevented unwanted Slack alerts when running reports manually.
