Taxfyle’s data team was buried in report requests from non-technical teams. Engineers who should’ve been focused on building automation and analytics systems were stuck creating one-off dashboards. Before Basedash, Taxfyle’s workflow was a patchwork of a partial warehouse, Looker Studio dashboards, and hand-written SQL queries. Non-technical users filed tickets, waited for a slot in the queue, reviewed for accuracy, and repeated the process. It worked—but it was slow, and it kept the data team bogged down in low-leverage work.
Basedash flipped that model. With conversational access to live data and easy report creation, non-technical users could answer their own questions while the data team focused on bigger initiatives.
Implementation
Taxfyle rolled out Basedash to shift routine reporting to business teams, starting with Partner Success. After testing internal prototypes, they chose Basedash for its ready-to-go, chat-first interface that didn’t require deployment overhead. They paired the rollout with better documentation—defining key tables, models, and business context—so Basedash could generate accurate answers out of the gate.
A short enablement push helped teams ramp quickly: how to phrase questions, how to use the Slack bot, and how to share results. Within weeks, Partner Success was self-sufficient—cutting report turnaround from roughly three weeks to about one. Power users moved even faster, turning around in a day what used to take weeks.
“We wanted to free the data team to do bigger things,” Claudio said. “Basedash made that possible almost immediately.”
Looking ahead, Taxfyle plans to add built-in feedback loops for answer accuracy, admin usage dashboards, and role-based data visibility (RLS) to support company-wide adoption.
Partner Success Goes Self-Serve
Partner Success tracks year-round activity for high-value clients. Previously, each report request took weeks of back-and-forth with data. Now, the team opens Basedash, asks a question in chat, and gets what they need in minutes.
“From the moment someone asks for data to when it ships, it used to take around three weeks,” Claudio said. “Now, if the data’s there, it’s less than a week—sometimes just a few hours.”
Impressions & Positioning
Claudio’s view is direct: Basedash makes self-serve reporting actually work for non-technical teams. “Usability is simple, adoption has been easy,” he said. “People just get it—it feels natural.”
The company now plans to roll Basedash out across its 100+ employees. “It’s not just another BI tool,” Claudio said. “Basedash turns data into a conversation. It’s fast, intuitive, and it empowers everyone on the team.”
