The Billing page shows your plan, how much of your included AI credits you’ve used, who used them, and the controls that decide what happens when you go over.
Only admins can open billing settings.

Overview

Every plan includes monthly AI credits. AI work across Basedash, like answering questions in chat, generating charts, building dashboards, running automations, and writing insights, draws from those credits. When the included credits run out, you can let usage continue and be billed for the overage, or stop AI requests until the next billing period. Included credits reset at the start of every billing period. For current prices, see Plans and pricing.

Set up billing

Open Settings → Billing.
  • During a free trial, click Set up billing to subscribe to the Startup plan and add a payment method. If more than two days of your trial are left, the rest of the trial carries over.
  • After setup, click Manage billing to manage your subscription and payment method in the Stripe customer portal.
The top of the page shows your current Plan, your Included AI credits, and how many days are left in the Billing period or trial.

Track AI usage

AI usage this period

The AI usage this period chart shows cumulative usage for each day of the billing period. Use the period selector to look back at up to 13 past periods. Below the chart:
  • Usage: billable AI work recorded for the period.
  • Remaining included credits: what’s left before overage begins.
  • Overage: usage beyond your included credits.

AI usage breakdown

AI usage breakdown shows usage for each person, split by feature: Chat, Chart, Dashboard, Automation, Insight, and Other. Usage that isn’t tied to a person is shown as system usage. Use the breakdown to see which teams and features use the most AI before you adjust limits.

Control spend

Find these settings under Billing settings.

On-demand usage

Allow on-demand usage is on by default and recommended. It lets people keep using AI after the included monthly credits run out. On-demand usage is billed in arrears on your next invoice. When it’s off, new AI requests are blocked once the included credits are used, until the next billing period starts or you turn it back on.

Organization spend limit

Set an Organization spend limit to cap AI usage beyond your included monthly credits. When usage reaches the limit, new AI requests are blocked until you raise or remove the limit, or the next billing period begins. The default is No limit.

Member spend limits

You can also set a spend limit for individual members. It works the same way as the organization limit: when a member reaches their limit, their new AI requests are blocked until you raise or remove it, or the next billing period begins. Other members aren’t affected.

Trial AI limit

Free trials include AI usage up to $250. Trial usage isn’t charged. When the trial limit is reached, set up billing to keep using AI.

What people see when AI is blocked

When AI requests are blocked, people see a message explaining why, such as the included credits being used up or the spend limit being reached. Members are asked to contact an admin, and admins are pointed to the setting that will unblock them.

Invoices

  • Billing email: where paid invoices are sent. It’s also the billing contact on your Stripe customer.
  • Send invoices to billing email: email a copy of each paid invoice to the billing email.
The Invoices section lists your last 12 invoices with their status. Click View invoice in Stripe to see or download one.

API

You can read AI usage for a billing period with the public API, for example to send it to your finance tools.
