Hey, I’m Tom, designer at Basedash, and I want to show you around.

Basedash allows anyone on your team to query data, build dashboards with natural language, and create reports that are automatically delivered with the help of AI. Let’s dive in.

One of the most important features of Basedash is the chat functionality. Think of it like ChatGPT or Claude, but with the full context of your business data. For example, I can ask how active I’ve been, and the AI will reason through different data points to summarize my activity. You can do the same with sales data, Stripe transactions, user activity, or organizations in your workspace—just ask.

From there, you can create charts, add them to dashboards, and keep digging further. You can even chat with Basedash directly from Slack.

Dashboards are another core feature. Here, I’ve connected Google Analytics to track visitors, devices, top pages, bounce rates, and locations. Creating a new chart is as simple as clicking “edit,” then describing what you want. For example, “Show me visitors over time.” Basedash generates the chart automatically, and you can customize it as a line, bar, pie, or other visualization type.

If you’re more technical, you can expand the chart to see the underlying SQL. You can bring in your own queries, optimize them, or inject variables. Basedash also automatically understands prompts like “group by week for the last 30 days” and adds the right parameters to the query. Every chart comes with a version history and full schema explorer, so you can always adjust, revert, or dive deeper.

Dashboards are fully customizable: drag, drop, and resize as needed. You can build entity-specific dashboards too—like a user detail page showing profile info and activity data, or an organization dashboard showing members, activity breakdowns, and usage over time. Basedash understands context, so if you ask for a chart filtered by organization ID, it hooks everything up automatically.

Reports are another powerful feature. You describe what you want—like an executive summary—and Basedash automatically delivers it by email or Slack. It runs in the background, so you get the insights you need without lifting a finger.

On the data side, Basedash connects to any warehouse (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, ClickHouse, etc.) plus over 600 SaaS connectors. You can also connect directly to SQL databases like Postgres, MySQL, PlanetScale, or Supabase—all in just a few minutes.

Permissions are flexible too. You can create groups, restrict access to specific dashboards, and embed dashboards directly into your own product. Every dashboard comes with an iframe and supports injecting values from your app through URL parameters, so you can surface analytics to your users seamlessly.
