The closest Geckoboard alternatives in 2026 are Databox for SaaS-app KPIs with a free plan and built-in anomaly alerts, Plecto for sales and support wallboards with native TV apps and one-minute SQL updates, and Klipfolio for teams that want a metric catalog or a classic TV slideshow. Metabase and Grafana suit teams that want to put live database queries on an office screen at low cost, Data Studio and Power BI suit Google and Microsoft shops, and Basedash suits teams that want an AI data analyst to build and monitor dashboards on their own database. Every price below was checked on the vendor’s official page on October 11, 2026.
Geckoboard does one job well: it puts a small set of live numbers on a TV or in Slack with very little setup. Teams usually start looking elsewhere for one of these reasons:
If none of those apply, Geckoboard is still a reasonable choice. The alternatives below each fix one or more of them.
We scored each tool against the questions buyers ask when they replace a KPI wallboard:

Best for: small teams that want a few live KPIs on a TV and in Slack with almost no setup.
Fact card: Geckoboard
Best for: marketing, sales, and agency teams that want KPI dashboards from SaaS apps with AI summaries and anomaly alerts at a low entry price.
Databox is the most direct Geckoboard replacement. It covers the same SaaS apps, adds a free plan, and ships AI features Geckoboard lacks. The catch is that TV streaming, sharing, embeds, and alerts all start on the Team plans, so a like-for-like replacement for a Geckoboard wallboard costs $199 per month on annual billing.
Fact card: Databox
For a deeper head-to-head, see our Databox alternatives comparison.
Best for: sales, contact center, and support teams that want real-time leaderboards on office TVs with gamification.
Plecto is built for the same wall screens Geckoboard targets, but it leans into individual performance: contests, achievements, and notifications that play on the slideshow, flash a Philips Hue light, or play a sound on Sonos. Pricing is per tracked employee, not per dashboard.
Fact card: Plecto
Best for: teams that want a governed metric catalog with goals and forecasts, sourced from a warehouse or a dbt semantic layer.
Klipfolio sells two products. PowerMetrics is the newer, metric-centric one. Klips, the classic dashboard product, is still sold and is the closer match to Geckoboard: it has a built-in Full Screen (TV) mode with a dashboard slideshow and plans from $120 per month billed annually for 3 dashboards and unlimited users, with 15-minute refresh and SSO on the $310 Team plan.
Fact card: Klipfolio PowerMetrics
Best for: teams with their own database that want a free or low-cost dashboard on an office TV, with alerts and the option to self-host.
Metabase queries the database live, so a dashboard on a TV is only as stale as its refresh setting. The dashboard docs describe putting a dashboard on a TV: add #refresh=60&fullscreen to the URL and it refreshes every 60 seconds in fullscreen. You still need a device that stays signed in.
Fact card: Metabase
Best for: engineering and operations teams that want second-level refresh, kiosk playlists, and alert routing on database metrics.
Grafana started as an observability tool, but its SQL data sources, kiosk mode, and playlists make it a common free Geckoboard alternative for engineering-led companies. Business users usually find it harder to build in than Geckoboard.
Fact card: Grafana Cloud
Best for: teams whose KPIs live in Google Sheets, GA4, Google Ads, or BigQuery and who want a free starting point.
Google renamed Looker Studio back to Data Studio in April 2026. The free version can loop report pages full screen in present mode, but report auto-refresh and alerts are Pro features.
Fact card: Google Data Studio
Best for: Microsoft 365 companies that already pay for Power BI Pro and want KPI tiles with email alerts.
Power BI is a full BI platform, not a wallboard. Microsoft documents full screen mode for kiosk displays, but there is no TV app, and the most frequent automatic page refresh on a Pro license is every 30 minutes, for DirectQuery sources only.
Fact card: Microsoft Power BI
Best for: teams with data in a database or warehouse that want an AI data analyst to build KPI dashboards from a prompt and watch the numbers for them.
Basedash is not a TV wallboard. It has no TV pairing or slideshow mode, so a screen needs a signed-in browser. It fits teams that replace Geckoboard because they want to ask why a KPI moved, not just display it: the AI data analyst answers questions in plain English against the connected database, and dashboards can be generated from a description and refined in chat.

If you mainly need KPIs on an office TV: Plecto has native TV apps and the deepest wallboard features. Klipfolio Klips has a built-in TV slideshow from $120 per month. Databox streams to TVs on its Team plans. Metabase and Grafana work well on a TV if someone can keep a browser signed in.
If you need refresh every minute and alerts in Slack: Plecto polls SQL every minute and posts to Slack and Teams. Grafana refreshes in seconds and routes alerts to Slack, Teams, and PagerDuty. Metabase checks goal-line alerts as often as every minute. Databox tops out at 15 minutes with a paid add-on, and Power BI at 30 minutes on Pro.
If your KPIs live in SaaS apps like HubSpot, Stripe, and Shopify: Databox is the closest swap for Geckoboard, with a free plan and more integrations. Plecto covers sales and support tools. Basedash syncs SaaS apps into its own warehouse alongside database data.
If your KPIs live in Snowflake or BigQuery: Metabase, Grafana (with the BigQuery plugin or the Snowflake Enterprise plugin), Basedash, and PowerMetrics query warehouses directly. Data Studio covers BigQuery natively and Snowflake through partners.
If you need SSO or SCIM without an enterprise contract: Plecto includes SAML on every plan, Databox sells it as a $40 add-on, PowerMetrics as a $69 add-on, and Metabase includes SAML and SCIM on Pro. Grafana Cloud documents SAML on paid plans, with SCIM provisioning that works only alongside SAML.
If you want AI to explain what changed: Databox includes anomaly detection and AI summaries on every plan, Metabase includes Metabot, and Basedash runs data-change automations and Insights on top of an AI data analyst. Our AI anomaly detection comparison covers that use case in more depth.
If budget is the main constraint: Data Studio is free, Grafana Cloud’s free tier covers 3 users, and open source Metabase and Grafana cost only hosting.
For most teams it is Databox, because it connects to the same SaaS apps, has a free plan, and adds anomaly alerts and an AI analyst that Geckoboard does not have. Databox Team plans, from $199 per month billed annually, include TV streaming, sharing, and alerts. Sales and support teams that want gamified leaderboards on office TVs should look at Plecto instead, and teams with their own database should look at Metabase or Grafana. Prices were checked in October 2026.
Geckoboard is simpler for TV wallboards. Every plan includes screens and unlimited viewers, and SQL queries refresh every 3 minutes. Databox is broader. It has a free plan, 130+ integrations, native BigQuery, and AI summaries and anomaly detection on every plan, but paid plans sync hourly unless you buy a $14 per month 15-minute add-on for each source. Geckoboard alerts start at $319 per month and Databox alerts at $199 per month, both billed annually.
Plecto’s SQL integration can update every minute and send notifications to Slack, Microsoft Teams, and email. Grafana dashboards refresh in seconds, and its alerting sends to Slack, Teams, email, and PagerDuty. Metabase queries databases live, can auto-refresh a fullscreen dashboard every 60 seconds, and can check goal-line alerts every minute. Geckoboard’s fastest SQL refresh is 3 minutes, with Slack alerts on Performance. Databox, Power BI, and Data Studio refresh less often.
Plecto has native TV apps for LG, Samsung, and Android smart TVs, and pairs screens with a four-digit code. Geckoboard and Databox pair a TV browser through a short code and manage screens remotely. Klipfolio Klips has a Full Screen (TV) mode with a dashboard slideshow. Grafana uses kiosk mode with playlists, and Metabase uses a fullscreen URL with auto-refresh. Geckoboard says smart TV browsers are unreliable and Klipfolio does not support them, so plan on a small streaming device or computer.
Yes. Google Data Studio is free and can loop report pages full screen, though auto-refresh and alerts need Pro at $9 per user per project per month. Grafana Cloud’s free tier covers 3 active users, and open source Grafana and Metabase are free to self-host. Databox has a free plan with 1 user, 3 data sources, and daily sync, but TV streaming needs a Team plan. Geckoboard itself has a 14-day trial and no free plan.
Metabase, Basedash, Databox, Plecto, and Klipfolio PowerMetrics connect to both Snowflake and BigQuery. In Plecto, SQL integrations need the Large plan. Grafana has a BigQuery plugin and a Snowflake plugin that is an Enterprise plugin, at $55 per active user per month on Cloud Pro. Data Studio connects to BigQuery natively and to Snowflake through partner connectors. Geckoboard connects to Snowflake but reaches BigQuery only through Google Sheets.
Plecto’s dynamic dashboards, an add-on, show each employee their own or their team’s data. Metabase Pro and Enterprise include row and column security, Power BI uses row-level security roles for Viewers, and Data Studio filters by the viewer’s email address. Basedash supports row-level security on Postgres databases. Geckoboard, Databox, and Klipfolio PowerMetrics control access per dashboard, with no row-level security documented. For more depth, see our row-level security comparison.
